My new Piersel arrived today!
(I justified this purchase because Veterans Affairs raised my pension last month, back-dated three years! Congratulations to me! How could I not buy myself something sweet? My first Piersel was purchased on store credit from SP. Now I've got a nice pair.)

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, wild caught blue catfish and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm passing the half way mark on this bowl of year 2000 VaPer Three Nuns in a 1938 straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
And a durn good smoker like all old Comoy's firsts and seconds are.

Funny you should say that, I've been trying to identify a pipe. Would you take a look in "Longshot" thread and give me your feedback?
It's under pipe discussions, I think.
They haven't been playing smart for several weeks. Too many homer happy swings, too many starting pitcher problems, and a vastly overrated bullpen. They have replied too much on magic, too much entitlement, no urgency, and not enough on game skills since early September.
Agreed they've haven't played well since they clinched. Edit: Pitching allowed 6 homers in a playoff!?!
There's nothing worse than complacency and self entitlement. And the GM did an incredibly weak job on getting the bullpen help that they needed at the trade deadline. And I would have not started Elder tonight. I told m'lady he wouldn't get past the 4th inning before the game started.
He shouldn't have been in the game period but definitely should have been yanked sooner!

Very true. And all these homer happy swings at bad pitches has haunted this team every since they started getting closer to the all time season record. Olson only hit two homers the last month after a great season. Arcia, and both catchers haven't hit since the All Star game. Rosario has been very streaky. Murphy's catching skills declined, too. Have you noticed he hasn't caught a lot of games the past three weeks? Outside of Albies, Acuna, Ozuna, Riley, and a few pitchers, most of the Braves are not hungry to win, and every one of the Phillies are.
