Virginia tobacco with Kentucky whiskey: Yorktown in the WDC Royal Demuth "V" pipe.
Great day off-island with my younger son today - went to see a model railroad expo up in Lyden, WA by the Canadian border. Good event, and discovered a new, little B&M tobacconist next to the barber shop along the main street of town. When I walked in a young dad was picking up a MM cob to try a pipe for the first time (is a regular cigar smoker). Shopkeeper only knew about cigars and I helped the guy choose a tin of Orlik Golden Slice for his first tobacco. I hope it works out for him! I picked up a tin of the same, and Presbyterian--prices were the best I've seen in my state. Did I mention it was right across the border from Canada for any Vancouver-area folks (hint hint)? Small but fine selection of tobaccos which also included Nightcap, Three Nuns, 965, 7 Seas, Panna Cotta, and some bulk jar blends with names I've never seen before with words like "cookie" in them.
