Enjoyed a tasty Jazz apple, and am venturing toward the half way mark of this bowl of 70s, 80s Balkan Sobranie in a 1978 quarter bend CAO Turk's Head meer with a yellow cream swirl acrylic saddle stem. This will finish the exceptionally tasty sample.

For the first time, Sam the Scamp and Abner the Eager ate together, but when the food ran low, Sam growled at Abner so I put down some food for him a few inches away. While they finished eating in peace, Sam was continually checking to make sure Abner didn't bother him while he had a drink.

A third of a bowl left of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Great day off-island with my younger son today - went to see a model railroad expo up in Lyden, WA by the Canadian border. Good event, and discovered a new, little B&M tobacconist next to the barber shop along the main street of town. When I walked in a young dad was picking up a MM cob to try a pipe for the first time (is a regular cigar smoker). Shopkeeper only knew about cigars and I helped the guy choose a tin of Orlik Golden Slice for his first tobacco. I hope it works out for him! I picked up a tin of the same, and Presbyterian--prices were the best I've seen in my state. Did I mention it was right across the border from Canada for any Vancouver-area folks (hint hint)? Small but fine selection of tobaccos which also included Nightcap, Three Nuns, 965, 7 Seas, Panna Cotta, and some bulk jar blends with names I've never seen before with words like "cookie" in them.

First smoke it quite a while, the season has finally changed here in the desert southwest and the evenings have become pleasant at last.
I decided to smoke one of my recent acquisitions. a beautiful Mauro Armellini that I purchased from Mkelaw pipes.
This is a full bent with a brandy shaped bowl. It draws effortlessly and is perfect for sipping.
I stuffed it with Sasieni Balkan.
