Yesterday I smoked Mac Baren classic which was too moist and flavours were missing.
Second bowl was Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader which I liked much better. I dried it much more and smoked slowly.

The ancient Yew is kind of spooky so I grabbed the Altinok I designed based on Melrose Abbey and some of my favorite of the holiday blends - The Story Teller’s Pipe “The Holly King” - still working on lists!View attachment 257064View attachment 257065

That’s a lovely design, Yew trees are sacred and you’ll find them in almost every ancient churchyard in Britain, they are also the finest wood to make long bows and were used to arm English bowmen for centuries to great effect. I think you should call it “The Archer”.

Near the last third of this bowl of early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

London Blend is one of my absolute favourites, do you think there’s a chance they’ll bring it back Jim?

They've had three limited editions of it (sold by Smoking Pipes) in recent years so it's possible that they'll do it again. The last one wasn't quite like the earlier versions. It was softer with more vanilla than chocolate. I was lucky when it was discontinued in 2013, I went to JR's, and got a very good deal on several three year old pounds of it. I occasionally smoke some to stretch out my stash over the years.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of Peretti Royal in a black sandblasted medium bend 2013 Mark Tinsky Coral 5 cherrywood with a smooth dark brown shank and bottom with a tapered black briar accented acrylic stem.
