You will see more and more of my posts coming from my above the garage hideaway. I’m still working on a cool name for it. But essentially, it’s an attic above the garage that I’ve equipped with Internet, a tv and comfy chairs so I have a retreat when the weather gets nasty. Winter is Coming, so they say. From last night’s Escudo to tonight’s 2016 PS Luxury Bullseye. I’m in a juicy VaPer kind of place. Stuffed in a Butz with a glass of peppery sweet vermouth to wash it down.

Good day you’ve had Jim!
Earlier, I smoked a bowl of Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem.

Then, I smoked a bowl of year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad.

I'm close to finishing this bowl of Mac Baren HH Burley Flake in a straight smooth dark brown 1918 Pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 2 apple with a silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem.

No problem! I get it! Variety and cohesion is tough but you are making it work!
It it working? great! I was not trying for cohesion across the entire collection, not that it’s that big, but focusing on sets within the collection. Really, the only significant one so far is my Satou’s, I’m working toward a 7 day set. I’d like to do the same with a few other artisans. I’m working with Abe Herbaugh on some more ideas to match my plateau tomato from him. Maybe a 3 pipe set from him. We will see, i change my mind a lot depending on what pipes I come across.

I just meant the uniqueness of each kind if tie them together if that makes sense. Definitely started looking at those makers works very cool stuff!

Awesome, I love discovering a new carver I love. I haven’t found one that calls to me quite like Satou. I do love Gotoh and Tokutomi but those are never available, when they are, prices are sky high.

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of Hearth & Home AJ’s Vaper in a pre-1952 Sutliff Falcon 372 (made by Comoy’s) smooth light brown straight bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

And I just finished smoking year 2013 Capstan Blue Ready Rubbed in a smooth dark brown post-WWII Comoy’s Grand Slam 340 patent billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem.
