Received a box of old pipes this afternoon. This is one of them, a no name, stamped St. Claude, a kind of clay-shape, with a long thin stem, obviously not made of ebonite (no signs of the obligatory sulfur stuff) nor acrylic.
A nicely reamed bowl, still a slight smell of some burley, a stinger which I took out, the stem heavily chewed on. Loaded it with P-Cake, lots of Perique, a rest of Samuel Gawith 1792 and some university flake out of the same glass to keep the leftovers in smokable condition.
The pipe smokes perfect, like breathing, can image why St. Claude was the most reliable place in pipe production in former days. Cool smoke because of the long stem. Have a nice evening, gents.
