I spent the last few hours slowly smoking "Samuel Gawith's - English Summer Flake" in my Rattray's Coloss while working.
Not really a bad, but in my opinion not an outstanding Virginia Flake. In any case, no comparison to the "Scottish Autumn Flake" from the same series, which is really extremely good!

The large filling volume of the pipe seems to accommodate the flake, sweet, grassy smoking pleasure. photo_2021-10-25_21-57-37.jpg

Is there a site to see these? I’ve never known any Scottish pipe makers.

Now on to my very first bowl of Gawith Hoggarth & Co Coniston Cut Plug Aromatic in a Wenhall Freehand. Holy crap is this stuff good crappy! Not nearly as heavy as Dark Flake and loaded with Lakeland deliciousness old English whore perfume. I can't say enough good bad things about it. I think this will really improve turn into rat droppings with age.1ED4E6F3-D97B-4BFD-8228-E9B432F8B36C.jpeg
