Hurricane party has started!
Ashton Artisan's Blend in a Pete 01.
Actual Martini recipe (note absence of vodka):
-2 parts Boodles gin (found on clearance at Winn Dixie for $6!)
-1 part Noilly Pratt dry vermouth
- Pour ingredients over ice. Let rest for a bit, then stir. Do not shake, regardless of what Ian Fleming has led you to believe.
- Strain into chilled glass. Add olives. *
*Acceptable gin substitutes include Gordon's, Bombay (Sapphire or regular), Beefeater, Plymouth (my favorite) or, in a pinch, Seagram's. I do not recommend Tanqueray for a martini, too piney. Martini & Rossi or Cinzano dry vermouths are ok if you can't find Noilly Pratt.
