Hurricane party has started!

Ashton Artisan's Blend in a Pete 01.

Actual Martini recipe (note absence of vodka):
-2 parts Boodles gin (found on clearance at Winn Dixie for $6!)
-1 part Noilly Pratt dry vermouth
- Pour ingredients over ice. Let rest for a bit, then stir. Do not shake, regardless of what Ian Fleming has led you to believe.
- Strain into chilled glass. Add olives. *

*Acceptable gin substitutes include Gordon's, Bombay (Sapphire or regular), Beefeater, Plymouth (my favorite) or, in a pinch, Seagram's. I do not recommend Tanqueray for a martini, too piney. Martini & Rossi or Cinzano dry vermouths are ok if you can't find Noilly Pratt.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of the very old W.D. & H.O. Wills VaPer Three Nuns in a 2018 smooth straight flame grain Basil Meadows Merchant Service "Bing" replica with an aluminum band and black ebonite stem.

Smoking my first bowl of Gawith & Hoggarth Revor plug. I purchased a few pouches on the recommendation of @brooklynpipeclub. The plug smelled delicious and was easy to break apart and rub out. After reading the reviews I thought it was going to be in the same vein as St Bruno/Walnut Flake with a Lakeland undertone. The first puff and I swear there is Latakia. I smoked English blends for years and can taste even the faintest hint of Latakia. I thought it could be the tonquin, but it’s latakia. I’m about half way through the bowl and I’m enjoying it. It kind of reminds me of a deeper, darker and stronger Early Morning pipe. Although not at all what I was expecting, it’s damn good and is perfect on this chilly fall day.

Now smoking Mac Baren Burley London Blend in a smooth medium bend 2011 Rinaldo Collection Fiammata Silver Line 7 Odea 04 flame grain bulldog with a silver band and a tortoise shell acrylic saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink on this chilly, rainy afternoon.

The wind's starting to pick up a little.
Meanwhile, and because of the power of suggestion, I'm about to have a bowl of Maltese Falcon in my little Rattray's bent Rhodesian.
Watching a modern horror classic, "The Witch". If you appreciate the genre and haven't seen it, I highly recommend that you check it out.

I'm very glad to know you enjoy Revor plug! I'm hoping that the good folks at Laudisi can make it available stateside through their relationship with Gawith Hoggarth.
