My first bowl of 2017 HH Vintage Syrian in a Castello “Castello” bent billiard.

Damn this is a good smoke. I don’t know if it’s the qualities of the Syrian itself, the fact that the tin is a few years old, or that the Syrian was already aged to begin with. No matter the reason, this is excellent. It’s mild and smooth, no ”sharp edges”, but it’s got that unbelievably full flavour.

Thanks to @pipestud for making it possible.

Now smoking the last of this sample of year 2007 GLP Stratford in a 1970s full bend straight grain rough top Savinelli Autograph 6 sitter with a cumberland saddle stem. Haven't smoked this pipe in a long time, but it's a great VaPer pipe, and probably my best Savinelli Autograph. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching the Braves-Reds game.

Early start to the morning; late start with the pipe. It’s rainy and cold out, but after the hot summer, I don’t mind this. I picked the Stanwell Vario 86 as the pipe for the day.

I thought I’d dig out the Dunhill Dark Flake. Rubbed it out well and packed without the usual dry time. So far so good, though. Black Peruvian Blend is going nicely with this ...
