Half way through this bowl of John Barrett Salad Bowl Mixture in a 2015 John Barrett slight bend smooth rock maple poker with a walnut shank and a black vulcanite stem. Have a few bowls left of this.

My first bowl of Russ Ouellette Acadian Gold in a Pipe Club of London 2016 POTY. I was sceptical at first as I rarely do straight Virginia, but the promise of malt enticed me and OMG it delivered! I will confess that the tin note on opening was one of the best moments in my 35 year smoking odyssey. It took me ages to actually fill the bowl as I kept smelling the tin. The taste is like no other straight VA you've ever had and it is wonderful. Smoke slow and cool and I defy you not to love this stuff.
