On to bowl #2 for the day.

I let a couple flakes of Sam Gawith Full VA. Flake dry out over night.

Gave it a rub and packed up my L'Anatra.

Here comes the flame...
Edit: wow! Letting it dry out over night has done a world of good for the Gawith flake. Way more mellow and it has sweetened up. Like adding a couple ice cubes to a 160 proof bourbon.

An afternoon respite with C&D New Market in an English clay.

This blend gets knocked around quite a bit in the TR reviews, but I find it to be a nice, light change of pace. There’s a little citrus from the virginia, a little sweetness from the cavendish, and the deer tongue influence is subtle, which in my opinion, is how deer tongue should be. It probably won’t rock anyone’s world, but it’s pleasant as a mid-day break.
