Lawrence's Mixture # 1 in an MM Country Gent. This is a private blend by one of the members of the Pipe Club of London - it contains Sam Gawith Balkan "plus a couple of orientals and other bits"! This sample is 4-5 years old and is sublime; there's well-balanced sweetness and sour notes on a smooth base that's full of flavour yet is light as air. Very, very good.

GQ Clementine's Nip in an MM Country Gent. Another sample from the Pipe Club today. Good news - it's not a gloopy, sickly aro. Bad news - it's not really much of anything. Shame, as I think Glynn Quelch is a talented blender with the courage to do things a bit differently. A number of experienced guys really liked it, so it's probably me.

Sam Gawith St James Flake in a straight Genod tall biliard with a buffalo horn rim. Come on baby - just give me one more smidgeon of depth/dark fruit/sweetness and you march into the roation at first bowl...
