Just lit a bowl of C&D Five O’Clock Shadow in the Mario Pascucci -P Rust –2127. Dark, brooding, slightly sweet Virginia-sweet with that signature Cornell & Diehl musty depth… perfect smoke for a quiet evening.
To all my American brothers across the pond: Happy Thanksgiving, gentlemen! May your turkeys be moist, your families tolerable, and your pipes stuffed with something at least as good as this Five O’Clock Shadow. Raise a bowl (and a glass) tonight.

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving! Turkey breast smoking on the 14“ Weber Smokey Mountain. Cornbread made and cooling for the cornbread dressing. Big chicken simmering in the pot for stock and chicken and dumplings. Pecan pie in the oven. Turnip greens cut and washed, ready to join smoked turkey necks in the pot. Time for a break! My ability as a writer is insufficient to convey my gratitude. Coffee, burley, cob.
