Almost finished smoking year 2012 St. James Flake in a straight smooth brown Algerian briar post-WW2-early 50s family era Barling’s Make Ye Olde Wood T.V.F. Made in England EL billiard with a tapered black ebonite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo.

I spent some quality time with my Saturday ZOOM pipe buddies talking 'bout "gone" tobaccos, jazz, and the resurgence of vinyl records, among other things. I smoked my long meerschaum (a gift from my "brother from another mother" Al) filled with 23-year-old McClelland 2000 Fragrant Matured Cake. Peach/Mango Green Tea with a splash of Honey Jack in a berg-filled tumbler was my drink. A good afternoon.

A third of the way through this bowl of year 2016 Newminister 400 Superior Navy Flake in a straight smooth brown year 1948 Parker Super Bruyere patent 23 88/F bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Been watching/listening to one of my favorite, often seen movies, "My Man Godfrey", while reading links about the real story behind the 1919 and 1920 Black Sox scandal. For those who only know the movie "Eight Men Out", you will gain a new perspective on the entire subject here with many links embedded for many more detailed articles:

Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and near the first quarter of this bowl of Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the original 515 that Basil Rathbone smoked, and the model that he smoked it in. Fed all the ferals without incident, but I had to keep them separated in order to avoid trouble. Daisy the Feral Princess spent most of the evening snoozin' on her favorite blanket until she heard me feeding Tomato the Brave. She went out after she ate, and so did Tomato. Harry the Hairy is snoozin' on the floor about three feet away from Norton the Nosey.

Wow, that’s an impressive Dunhill stash! It’s always a pleasure to see someone who managed to hold onto those classics. Not many people can open their cellar and pull out blends of that caliber anymore. Enjoy them — treasures like that
deserve to be smoked, not just stored.
Dunhill has always been a part of my rotation. When they announced ending production a few years ago, I stocked up deep. Of course many of the blends were eventually kept in production by Orlick as Peterson but my favorites such as The Aperitif, London Mixture, and Durbar were not. Fortunately I cellared the deepest on those, including a lot of Murray production (thank you, Pipestud). And, yes--they're for smoking, not hoarding.
