Late Night Catchup Post. Skippable Drivel after smoke posts. A couple of interesting puffs this afternoon and evening.
First one, one of those bellringers that we get once in a while that has the pipe talking to us. Sir Walter Raleigh in my Brog #25 Kaiser.

I have two of these pipes. Both excellent smokers, performing well out of their price class. This one is biased for Aro-Codgers, it's twin for Lats. I've never made any secret of my fondness for SWR, but this smoke was the best single session I've ever had with this tobacco. Incredible. The pipe simply told me YESSSSS!!
I'll do a repeat to see if I wasn't imagining things. If there is an equal quality smoke, I'll simply dedicate it to the tobacco. What was more amazing, is that I smoked a half bowl . . . I've not found too many pipes that do this well. My Ropp J07 and one of my Brog Nosewarmers do this task with aplomb as well. To be continued.
Speaking of the Mr. Brog Nosewarmer, here it is in my second smoke of the evening, As with the Kaiser, I have two of these, the Lat dedicated one being posted earlier today. I stuffed the Aro-Codger dedicated one with Mr. B's Shamrock Treasure, which I also smoked and posted yesterday. This also was a great smoke.

I confess to having cut my piping teeth on longstems, and avoided shorties cuz . . . . well, just cuz. I'm simply amazed at how well these pipsqueak pipes with big bowls perform. Yeah, you have to smoke them real slow because you're so close to the furnace, but once you get the hang of them, they're just incredible smoking tools. And they fit in a pocket or in a travel case very well indeed. I got almost 50 minutes of bliss with this combo. I'd read about the prowess of the nosewarmer about a year ago in this thread, and simply couldn't buy it. Now, I'm a believer.
Skippable Drivel: In the first picture here, I'm smoking my Lubinski Military Mount in Olviewood, with TobaccoBarn's Traditional English, at my computer matching screens for the upcoming weekend smoke-a-thon with my buddies. We're going to have a movie night, and a double bill it is. Hopefully should have a crew of 7 or 8.

You might recognize that picture on the big screen . . . it's the same one that I posted the other day of the mess in my kitchen. Now you can see the massive cleanup job I have to do before guests.
The double bill consists of "The Terror or Tiny Town", a vintage 1950's Westernfilm with an all midget cast, starring famed tiny guy Billy Curtis as the White Hat. The second film is the cult classic, John Carpenter's "Dark Star", a film he made as his Master's Degree Thesis in Cinema. It was so good that his profs asked him to add 15 minutes to it so it could be released theatrically. He did this, and the rest is history. It is a landbreaker in special effects, and almost all sci-fi movies after the debut in 1972 use his groundbreaking special effects, even to this day. If you don't know this film, watch it. It is available on line.
The final shot in this overly long post is one of my smoking buddies, Kevin. He's a great friend, gunsmith and mechanic, and he took the above picture of me, and convinced me to post it to show the guys on the forum what a slob I am, lol.
He has a small ranch about 15 miles out of town, and has invited me to take a deer on his property with my .45 Calibre round ball Airgun, which will shoot through a 2x4 at 20 yards. Will do the trick easily.

I took this shot of him while he was talking to Mike. The outdoor picnic table crowd has now moved indoors for smoking in comfort. So, there it is . . . . oh yeah, one more picture. Why? Just 'cuz, lol.

Saw it a few years back, and couldn't stop laughing. Figured a few of you might find it amusing, too.
G'night.
