Morning Smoke Post this evening. Went shopping for groceries last night and came home with a whack of Brussels Sprouts. Spent most of the day cleaning, blanching and freezing them. Thought I was finished with all that, but, hey, they were cheap, and I like 'em, so the 5 big packs I froze will suit me fine.
Morning smoke was about usual, but the
Cold coffee, Cherry English, and Large MM Cob this time, was not accompanied by the usual cheap cigar cuz I wasn't on line. I was freezing sprouts.
But a couple of excellent smokes this afternoon and evening. Time to smoke the tailings, so treated myself to my
Mr. Brog Nosewarmer with my tailings, which I call
Skragg in honor of Olyve Oil of Popeye fame. She's a fave cartoon character of mine. I dump everything in the
Skragg, including lat tailings, and 30% of it's content with dried parsley - adds a surprisingly nice floral edge to the mix. (Don't knock it 'till you try it, lol) As the Brog is biased for lat, it was a great pipe for the task. Excellent smoke.
A significant evening smoke. Yah, I have several premium pipes, and one of them is my
Brigham Tundra. I laced it with (suitably) a Brigham Tobacco, called (up here in Canada)
Mr. B's Shamrock Treasure. It's a basic Virginia/Burley mix, but is laced with an unusual (and to me delicious, even with as yet substandard tastebuds) and rather over the top lacing of Irish Cream. It's apparently also got a casing of vanilla as well, but I think it's overwhelmed with the other ingredients. In any case, it's a fine addition to my larder, and it's available locally here at Sheffields.
As I was smoking throughout the day, I noticed that, over the 2 1/2 or so years of my pipe phase, I'd accrued quite a collection of unnecessary smoking accessories. I grabbed a bunch of them and did a snap this afternoon, and present it in lieu of Skippable Drivel tonight, as I'm ball busted and going to crash. Of all of this stuff I only use the Usud lighters (I have three but have lost one somewhere so it ain't in the family foto) which I put in many of my posts. The other stuff is basically silly executive toys that don't really work reliably, except for the Zippo Basic, which I don't really like for a pipe. Of course, there are always matches. Use them quite a bit.
See ya'll tomorrow and have a great morning. I'm sleeping in and doubt I'll get up before noon.

Hmmmmm . . . guess this is
Skippable Drivel afterall, eh?
