Yes, 'dragonweed' would be a good, evocative name for pipe tobacco in a fantasy setting. It effectively conveys a sense of exoticism, power, and the "fiery" nature of smoke in a world where dragons are a reality.
Here's why it works:
  • Fantasy association: The name immediately places the product within a fantasy world, leveraging the strong imagery of dragons.
  • Connotation of strength/heat: The "dragon" prefix suggests a strong, perhaps spicy or fiery, blend, which is a common characteristic of some pipe tobaccos. This also allows for different 'strengths' in the world (e.g., "Dragon's Breath" could be an extra-strong blend).
  • Distinctiveness: While the term "dragon" is common in fantasy, "dragonweed" is not a widely established fictional product name, giving your world a unique touch while still being easily understood.
  • Versatility: It can be used as a general term for the plant itself (like "pipe-weed" in Lord of the Rings) or as a specific brand name.
The name has natural fantasy appeal and a strong, fitting connotation for a smoked product, making it a solid choice for worldbuilding.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am half way through this bowl of C&D Warped: Saint Espresso 2025 in a 1986 three quarter bend Bacchus face CAO meer with a tapered dark tortoise shell colored acrylic stem. Should be able to finish the review with this smoke and post it here.

I was recently interviewed about the great comic book artist, the late Murphy Anderson. Here's a link to the article:

Still rainy, and the big plus for the day is that I remembered it was our Anniversary before the wife did😉

C&D Derringer/Exclusive in a M Cermak. The chickens are getting adventurous since mama started letting them out of the coop last week.

Part way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. It's been a very busy day, but I got most everything done except for a KBV blend to review. I'm taking a break and relaxing right now. When I washed my hands after cleaning pipes, Norton the Nosey jumped on the sink and stuck his paw in the water. He looked up at me not understanding what soap was, silly fella. Here's two more Tomato the Brave fighting.
