Two Morning Smokes today. Started off early with the
MM Minicob and my recent concoction, arrp\ogantly named
Gord's Cherry English. It's a keeper, and I've got a batch in a cannister aging for a couple of weeks in addition to the trial jar which is now half gone. Chomping on a
Kwiki Grape as I type this post, as is my usual wont.
Buddy Mike popped over for a couple of smokes as I was originally typing my post, so I aborted it and had my first major smoke of the day, I'll post that after I clean up the disaster area that is my kitchen, which outlines my morning smoke and a
very significant puff I had last night, which is featured in an appropriate snapshot of the squalor of my kitchen table/online computer area, which is the main cleanup task confronting me for the day.

The minicob smoke isn't in the squalor pile; it's in another pile to the left of the computer and I just ain't gonna take another photo of self-incriminating evidence. Besides, you've all seen it before, eh?
Skippable Drivel later today, after this post and my post of the late morning smoke with Mike. It was his suggestion I post the photo below - he thought it hilarious. Could be interesting or a complete flop, depending on many factors . . . .
In the photo above, you can see my beloved
McQueen Cherrywood Russet, a now discontinued pipe that had an incredible facility for outlining detail in complex tobaccos. Don't know why because cherrywood seemed to me to be at it's best in English mixes. Not this fellow. It took to one tobacco in an amazing way -
Savinelli 140. You can see the 4 ounce tin I have, which is about 3/4 full. So after my trials with this delicate and detailed tobacco, I dedicated this pipe this wonderful stuff.
It was at this point, after my operation and prescription drugs caused me to lose most of my tasting ability. You've heard this whine all too often, so its stops here. My tasting ability has really improved as of late, so I've been taking tobaccos out of mothballs that I had avoided for about 3 or 4 months. I'd say that Sav 140 is the most complex and delicate tobacco I have, so I figured on tackling the problem head on last night.
Very glad I did. No, I'm not 100%, but I'll make an analogy that a lot of guys here will really understand. . . . imagine taking a great single malt Scotch, and mixing it with about half it's volume with pure water. Yup, everything will be there but in diluted form. I got all the nuances, but not full blast.
And, I can live with that. I had about the best smoke I've had in months.
Yesssss!
Right now I'm a happy camper. Thank you, Iron Monkey, for your recommendations on this great tobacco. Catch ya'll later!!
