Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2024 KBV Mr. Christian's Haunted Virginia in a straight, black sandblasted 1980s Comoy’s Mark-2 G * 6 (4) bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

I had Norton the Nosey by my side when the ferals came in to eat so they wouldn't get upset about seeing him. After that, all four had fun with the refreshed catnip socks. There's too many photos to post in one entry, so I'll space them out with other posts. I'll start with Daisy the Feral Princess since she insists on first billing after the Norton photo. Pssst... don't tell Daisy. :)

Did a set of walking reps and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem.

Jim ... a while back, you showed & commented on a pipe that you said was your favorite. Not to diminish your collection of 4AB's, but I would have guessed this Lorenzo level top billiard to be your favorite, based upon how often you show it. I always love seeing it because my first quality pipe (purchased in 1969 in West Germany) was a Lorenzo Oom Paul (which I still have). I felt it was equal in quality to a friend's Savinelli Capri. I especially admire the rustication Lorenzo uses.
NOTE: If you had adopted me, like you've done with the skinny fella, and fed me like you've done with him ... except with the meals you tantalize us with, the sandwiches & the desserts ... I'd probably learn to purr also. HOWEVER, I wouldn't be looking in & joining you during your shower (!!!).

Did a little low calorie snacking, and have passed the last third of this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a 1984 medium bend black grain etched Savinelli Non Pareil 9310 pokerish dublin with a horn ferrule and a black vulcanite flared stem.

Harry the Hairy and a refreshed catnip sock. If he looks drunk, it's because he probably was. When he finally got up, he was moving so slow that I don't think he could have passed a sobriety test.

Very nice pipe. I've always thought Estellas were very cool pipes, and very underrated, which is good for buying them. I've owned a couple in the past but knew a gentleman that collected them. He must have had a couple hundred, you should have seen his bamboo Estellas!
That is insane. I have never seen a bamboo Estella. I bet he started collecting before 2012. Super cool.

I am extremely relieved that you do not want to take a shower with. :)

I like the Lorenzos that I have although I don't smoke them that often outside of the one you see every day. It's my walking pipe which is why you see it so often. You see the Basil Meadows squashed tomato that I smoke EGR in every day for that reason, and for the fact it is one of my favorite pipes. Basil made it for me and wouldn't let me pay for it, so it became a wonderful, generous gift from a great friend.

As for my favorite pipe, it's this Barling 249 which I've discussed in the past, but I'll repost the story for you:
My best friend Donald was trying to get off the cigarette habit, and I got him interested in pipes and cigars. He was a long distance truck driver who always had extra spending money, so when he started buying pipes, he bought expensive ones, e.g. Ardors, Rinaldos, Karl Eriks, meers, etc. He always consulted me before buying a pipe. Well, that particular August, the store owner showed Donald that Barling, and he bought it.

After he paid for it, I said, "Of all the pipes (approximately 70) that you have bought these past three years, you finally bought one that I have some envy for." Donald grinned broadly and said, "Well, if anything ever happens to me, it'll be yours." It was the last pipe he bought because he was mostly happy with the collection he had formed.

A few years later, Donald passed away from pancreatic cancer at age 56. I inherited his pipe collection. The Barling was his favorite pipe. It became mine. I always think of him when I smoke one of his pipes, but I find I can't smoke this Barling without remembering that particular conversation and thinking about how much I miss him, too. No pipe I smoke has this much emotion attached.

The bottom pipe is a Lorenzo second that I bought in the 1970s.

Half way through this bowl of year 2013 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a straight smooth brown 1960s-70s BBB Own Make 506 Canadian with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. I've wondered why Daisy the Feral Princess keeps going out and a few minutes later, wants back in the last number of days. It has occurred to me that she doesn't want to use the same litter box that Norton the Nosey is using. I've noticed that he goes a lot, too, but then again, he's eating a lot like cat that was never fed much. Considering how thin and bony he was when m'lady found, I can see why he doesn't miss a chance to eat when he's hungry. The one thing that does cause stress for the other cats is as soon as I fed one or more, he runs to the kitchen to watch even when he isn't hungry. They don't like that, and I have to move him away until they eat.

After Tomato the Brave ate, he had his turn with one of the catnip socks. Molly Danger is currently sleeping on one. So is Daisy.

Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am almost a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a straight, black sandblasted pre-1970 Comoy’s Sunrise Etched Grain straight Liverpool 309 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Molly Danger took a turn with a catnip sock after she woke up.

Last smoke of the day is year 2020 D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Lost track of time reading, so I'm late in feeding the ferals.
