Great day today at the Texas Pipe Show. My first-ever pipe show, and it set the bar high. Got to meet Mark Irwin, who graciously signed my copy of the Peterson Pipe Book, as well as John David from the Country Squire who was a consummate gentleman and let me try some of their tobaccos I’d never had before. got a couple of pipes, which I’ll post later when I get a chance to smoke them. Smoked a lot today, but the most important was the slow smoke I participated in with some very fine folks indeed, tobacco was GL Pease Pennyfarthing in a clay - I lasted 13 minutes and change and got a half pour of Silver Star Bourbon for my trouble
- not to mention I got to keep the clay, the tamper, and the pocket jar. If you live in Texas, you owe it to yourself to come to the Texas Pipe Show next year.
