Now smoking year 2024 KBV Mr. Christian's Haunted Virginia in a straight, black sandblasted 1980s Comoy’s Mark-2 G * 6 (4) bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. This will get me to dinner time.

Daisy the Feral Princess came in to eat. After she did, she came to the den to see me, and didn’t know what to do since Sleepy Suzy and Norton the Nosey were by my chair. The three were staring at me for about minute when I got the camera to take a photo of it. I told Daisy to look up at me again, and when she did, Norton got jealous and put his paw on my foot.

Started the day off with some of my own Va/Per mixture in the Peterson PSB system de luxe 20FBIMG_8232.jpeg
Then, later on, some Carolina Red Flake 2024 in the Peterson Junior silver mounted bulldog IMG_8233.jpeg
I capped off the workday with three successive bowls of Hearth & Home Black House in the MiniMeer IMG_8234.jpeg
And finally, just now, I was smoking a Toscano Originale with the little acrylic tip on a walk with the dogs and my wonderful wife. It was one of those twisty Toscanos.IMG_8241.jpeg

BIA in the Herbaugh Pot, chamber dims are 1.4 x .9, great morning pipe especially for more complex blends.

Had to laugh at your comment . . . . I'm so braindead in the morning I can't judge flavour or discriminate on any kind of complexity. Takes me an hour before I even crawl out of the sack, turn the screen on, and have a cup of cold coffee while watching the world decay. 😒

Your pipe shown is really quite a nifty little number, by the way. Love it!

Good morning! Coffee, burley, cob. Bright sunshine and a cool 50F this morning. 😎

What on earth is happening in the world of pipe stems over the last couple of months? Am I slow to notice or has this been going on for some time??? Enquiring minds want to know. I don't think I'm unobservant, but I could be wrong.

I do promise though, not to mention it again unless it's totally outrageous. This one isn't quite there . . . . 🙃 . . . . but pushing the envelope for a cob.

Running behind - it's dark here by 4:30 PM, and somewhat disorienting. No morning smoke today. Wednesday's is Range Day and I was in charge of opening the clubhouse at noon. Indoors, it's chew only. Just got home and still haven't had a puff, but will take care of that after this post.

Had two great smokes yesterday evening. Two pipes, one tobacco:

IMGP6526BrogRoppOPT.JPG

Two of my best smoking medium bores, the Mr. Brog #311 "Birdie", and the Ropp Etudiante J06. Both are biased for basic plain codgers or dark Cavendishes, and I smoked the Brog first with Borkum Riff Black Cavendish, one of my favourite "relaxation" smokes. So did a double. Both great smokes, as expected.

Both of these stellar pipes are also proof that you don't have to spend big bucks on a great smoking pipe. The Brog is now fully broken in, and still prefers the BR Black, which was one of the break in tobaccos. I'm not complaining. it's my "go-to" tobacco when I'm not sure what I want to smoke. Even though I now have a rotation, I'm not dogmatic about it . . . .

Behind on my chores but should still finish and post Stage 1 of my exploration of the Dan 50th Anniversary pipe tobacco of 2009. Stay tuned. There's a great story involved that many will enjoy.
