I’m relaxing with a mug of Russian Caravan tea whilst smoking some wonderful C&D CRF w/ Perique ( a generous sample from @PrivatePiping ) in the 2009 Boswell Poker.

With everything going on today, I feared I might not be able to have a bowl, but I did.........

I have a new stallion in the herd (of pipes, not horses) and I was excited to take my maiden voyage with it.
A Castello (my first) 55, Sea Rock, GGG. It is quite a handful to smoke, but I love the way it feels in the hand. I had some ribbon cut Elizabethan Mixture (Vaper) for the first go and some sparkling water on the side.
I have heard of the incredible smoking machine that this pipe is and how the draw is sublime. It is all true and the experience was all that I could ask for.

Special thanks go to the two "Pauls" ( @PaulRVA & @VDL_Piper ) for their advice, tips, suggestions and cajoling.......

The bucket list just got a bit shorter.

Currently smoking my Old Sea Captain meer with some Cornell and Diehl - Pirate Kake while watching a documentary on the wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald in honor of yesterday's 50th Anniversary of the tragic sinking of the Queen of the Great Lakes. Like many, I've always been intrigued by this event, I and always listen to Gordon Lightfoot's classic song, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on the anniversary of the event.

PS Luxury navy flake in the Vauen Olaf bent egg but it got cold today; with wind below 30 and snow showers so I switched to Sutliff 507-C in the Erica System second 302 with Savinelli dry system stem and 6mm filter. If cold again tomorrow I may get out the Donegal Rocky Kapmeer 999 (transitional 1969-1971- stem goes directly into wood not a tenon fitting).

A minute or two away from smoking year 2014 Orlik Golden Sliced in a straight dark plum and brown octagonal paneled late 60s-early 70s Barling T.V.F. Made in England billiard 5 Quaint with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo.

Finished my 2022 Edisto this afternoon.



Looking back, it had some great flavors, but I think uncased straight red Virginia just isn’t quite sweet enough on its own for my taste. It was the ghost of the previous bowl of Gawith Virginias that really completed this smoke.
