Just finished smoking year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight 1960s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Enjoyed a long chat with an old college roommate.

Tonight's smoke is Sansepolcro 2025 in a Savinelli Siena 315 KS Prince. That pipe is reserved for Virginias. The Sansepolcro has been in the jar for a couple of months now and I get the soft clove note that is spoken of with this blend. Really pleasant. I have a few tins in the cellar. However, I am on the fence about the smoke. I am an English and Balkan smoker but my Virginia game is still very much a work in progress. That is for another post, however.

I am enjoying the sunset on the stoop and things are quiet here. A cool breeze is rustling the fallen leaves and my evening birds are getting a meal in. Glad the weekend is here and I hope you enjoy yours.

Half way through this bowl of Wilke Back Bay w/o perique in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Dublin Sterling Canadian 264 with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Fed all the cats except for the absent Harry the Hairy without incident.

Just finished filling a dumpster with household junk! Now relaxing in the garage waiting for a chair to be delivered and if it passes inspection I guess some packaging for the dumpster. Taking the young dog out later (she was a bit headstrong the other day so we’ll work on just a hair of curbing the enthusiasm, lol -it’s good for her to stay in eyesight!) and then Iowa BB and the big game tomorrow! Nording Hunter Anniversary and a superb @doug535 Chubby Apple, both with G&H American Black Cherry. Happy Friday!

Continuing the Peretti journey, trying out Blend "DD" in a Neerup Classic 4 Bent Dublin Sitter. This is a very pleasant smoke. I believe it is straight burley -- with some light topping (?). Very nice -- I'm getting addicted to the retrohale on this ...

Pairing with Real Ale Black Quad "Trappist Inspired Ale." Very dark, strong stuff, indeed. 🍺
(Hey @Goblin, have you tried the Black Quad?)
(Hey @Benedict Munsinger have you looked any more into Neerup pipes?)

Enjoying some GLP Horizons in my new Moretti Stublin with some coffee and the sunrise.

I commissioned this pipe on Saturday and it arrived yesterday! Originally reached out to Marco to compliment the anime opening they made for their fictional mascot, Acrilica. That evolved into conversation on my job and me asking him to make a pipe to celebrate the career shift. I just asked for "his interpretation of a stublin" (what I normally ask a carver to do) and here we are...

Love the pipe! I recently bought a used Moretti from a forum member and am completely smitten! I didn’t realize Marco did commissions. Will need to think about that.

As dinner is running very late tonight, I'm smoking year 2021 first production Watch City Simply Orange Virginia in a black sandblast medium bend Peterson POTY 4AB No. 182/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Going to clean a few pipes.
