Yesterday was my first try of a Wessex Red VA Flake/SG 1792 Flake blend – it was very good. Today I mixed that blend 50/50 with my Three Nuns and it was fantastic! I smoked it in an old Dr. Grabow while walking around the local lake. I was surprised to see a lot of ice that wasn’t there yesterday. As you can see below, winter is just around the corner.

@Goblin_Walrus well ain't that a kick in the head! First smoke of the month was a first time try of XXV Dusk (sample) in my large-chambered non-aromatic non-lat pipe, a Stefano Santambrogio smooth bent Rhodesian. All I can say is, if Dawn is a yelping Chihuahua, Dusk is a growling Doberman. Yowza! 8/10

Bird report: Dark-eyed junco, White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Band-tailed pigeon, American crow, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, Mountain chickadee, Western bluebird, and Spotted towhee.

Wishing everyone a good week!
Dusk definitely has some more bounce to the ounce. Man if I wrote a bird report it would be 90% vulture, I swear.

Hey, was that out of the tin? Curious to know how the paint tins hold up. I love your pipe, and your pipe’s car btw.
Paint tins hold up well for me so far: I have a few from 2020.

This one came in a bag though. It was a big rope (7 or 9 oz) which I jarred in two pieces.

Ps: A photo from the internet

Half way through this bowl of year 2021 Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. The ferals have been outside for a while. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is on m'lady's lap.

Earlier today, when m'lady came home from the grocery store, she saw Daisy the Feral Princess and Harry the Hairy stalking at something up a tree. One thing I know for sure is that it wasn't Tomato the Brave.

It’s been a busy day! I have a little time to myself with Bald Headed Teacher in this Peterson Newgrange 999. Iced tea. Tomorrow, I will announce the anniversary of my birth. Tonight, it’s FSU football! I will be listening to game 7 on the radio! Perhaps a wee dram of something smooth might also be appropriate.

Woke early this morning = Sat, Nov 1st. Went to McDonald's for their Big Breakfast w/Hotcakes plus a large black coffee. Drove to the viewing area at MSP Airport to eat & watch planes take off. Haven't had that breakfast for couple years so savored every bite! Beautiful out. The Autumn Color Peak, normally around 2nd week in Oct, is about 2 weeks late this year, so brilliant reds & oranges & yellows all around. Crisp morning temp of 38 degrees (F) made things perfect. ;)
Yesterday, had a new battery installed in the Camry (necessary), replacing the one with 6yr 3mo age. The first one went 5yr 3mo. Figured at this point, it didn't owe me anything. With a MN Winter closing in ... MN known for wind chills that can hit -30, sometimes even -50 (or lower) ... it was a good investment (!!!). You AZ, TX, FL (etc) residents who read that probably just got an involuntary shiver up your spines, thinking "OMG, HORRORS".

First pipe in Nov was some well-aged McClelland 2000 Fragrant Matured Cake with a sprinkle of Blending Perique in a Rossi 8804 Canadian which is based on the Savinelli 804 KS. This was an Estate purchase from SPs. It smoked great right from the first bowl. Absolutely nothing to complain about today. Next several weeks, will enjoy reading all the Internet articles on Thanksgiving recipes.
