I finished a leftover Brothers in Arms earlier and now on to the second bowl in the Wessex billiard. I’m too lazy to get another pipe from the “clean” rack so it’s a billiard weekend.

This is good stuff, and a chameleon blend in terms of flavor. This morning it tasted like chocolate on relight. This bowl is all dark smokey DFK. Other bowls have had a nice floral aroma and flavor, I assume from the oriental. While I typically gravitate to the singular or binary flavors of straight virginias and vapers, this is a good reminder explore other blends.

My dog is probably thinking, “he’s taking another picture of his pipe? Humans are weird.”

Since SG Firedance is trying to bite me (as is typical for me with straight VAs regardless of whether or not they're aromatic), I decided to switch up my smoking of it with a burley blend, but I wasn't a fan of the mesquite type smoke note of Brothers in Arms so I decided to give War Horse Bar a spin.

This is more how I prefer DFK used. This is pretty decent, the DFK taste is lighter here. The overall taste reminds me a little bit of semois, especially in being a bit earthy, and it's got a subtle woody sweetness that I like. I'm not getting any of the barnyard manure notes I've seen described. Guess I'll see how the porch smells in about an hour.

Enjoyed the rest of yesterday's lasagna, and then had three open face ham, cheddar cheese, double egg sandwiches for lunch. Dessert was an ice cream sandwich and a golden delicious apple. Then, I smoked a bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. The last of this bag of Gold Star Jamaican Estate Reserve, neat, is my drink. Norton the Nosey has been very active between running around with a yellow catnip ball in his mouth, and batting it all over the place. Now, he's doing the same with a plastic handle from m'lady's broken glasses.

Smoking Haunted Bookshop in my Dad's Meerschaum. Kieth Fields was the toughest man I ever met, and a good Christian. He worked as a Powerplant supervisor for 35 years in Southern Indiana. This week he passed away and went with God. I love you Dad.
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are raised up by many happy memories of him.

Passing the first third of this bowl of Sam Gawith Commonwealth in a 1980s SMS eagle claw egg medium bend meerschaum signed by Ismail Baglan with a brown and cream swirl acrylic stem. Never smoked it until now, so I'm writing a review of it.
