I guess you don’t have to worry about burning clay rims! 😂 the modern Cutty shape came from old clays, right?
@Ben.R.C Yes! I think you need some ember tongs to light your pipe from the fire!
These reproduction C18 ones are made in Sheffield (just up the road from me in Derbyshire); Jason the blacksmith uses his blacksmith's tongs to light my clay pipes with an ember from his forge!

That’s cool! Maybe I’ll save it for my outdoor fire pit fires tho 😂

Massive yard work day. Relaxing on front porch with a cup of Pu’erh tea and the Bertram 30, Pot filled with C&D Briar Fox. First time smoking this blend. Bought this tin last year and threw it in the cellar. I was wanting to smoke something new today and decided it was time to try the ‘ol Fox.
I really like this blend- great natural tobacco flavors with some subtle sweetness and smooth classic burley- nutty, earthy and slight spice.

Last night’s final smoke in the BST LC got me through the UFC Main Card and the new David Fincher movie on Netflix, The Killer—the pipe lasted just under four hours (shy by about ten minutes). This evening’s smoke will be appreciably shorter, as the chamber is much, much, smaller, and the cut of the tobacco less dense.

I’m having Sutliff Balkan Sobranie Original Mix Match in a Peterson Clay Bent Billiard Shape 8 (essentially a 313) with a P-lip stem, while I work on a cover illustration for a new book by our Weird Tales editor, Jonathan Maberry.
