They could be very possible. The two blends are definitely similiar. Whatever the difference I lean towards the Edward G blend. If there was no EG Id probably buy Directors cut. As it requires a bit of effort getting ahold of good tobacco here I will stock up on a few staples and call it good. I dont need twenty blends in mass quantity. Vapers are my favorite. I will have a couple of those along with some plugs, a couple of lat blends and a burley or two. I keep blending lat and perique around. Oh...and a couple of aromatics.... Between my main blends and some I have tried I can mix and match all I need. After smoking otc junky stuff its just a luxury to get my paws on the HU tobaccos.
Yep - I've got a HU parcel enroute as we speak.

Vertical Limit in an Asteriou. This tobacco tastes great, burns cool, stays lit. Just a total PIA to rub out thoroughly. 😂 I’ve been thinking about the breakin period with new pipes and the effect of the tobacco one might use. I’d think VA burns hottest and would be the worst to use for a break in unless you are ninja slow. 😂

I smoke straight Virginia’s in New Pipes till I get a lil cake then move on to whatever I feel like. I have a few ARO only pipes for stuff that funks up but in general I start with Virginia’s then move on. However it seems all of my best smokers were caked initially with SWR and for 30 years those pipes have been flawless.
Take it for what it’s worth and your mileage may vary.
Don't underestimate a top tier pipe being made with a piece of $h!t briar that no one could’ve seen coming, including the maker.
It happens and anyone who says otherwise is just kidding themselves.
Then there’s the smoke what you want to smoke from day one and never look back crowd and they do just as well.
For me personally if a pipe cant handle the pressure I don't want it and the particular one that aggravated me the most was a Savinelli 320 that ran hot from smoke #1 to this day 20 years later.

Israel
Israel is going through difficult times.

There is neither time nor desire for anything other than the desire to win and hug people who have lost loved ones in this war.

Despite everything, I found some time to pipe.

Paradoxical in a large Satou. I am not big on holidays, but I am quite grateful for this online community. I appreciate the input from the more experienced and less experienced pipe smokers in the forum. As a lone smoker who has learned everything virtually, this community has just been invaluable. Special shout out to @PaulRVA and @AppalachianPipe92 for all the great advice and conversation.

A third of the way through this bowl of early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Just got two blends in for review, one of which is already on the market, Dreaming Pipes Mount Tai. The other will go on sale Nov. 28: Drucquer & Sons King’s Fool. Going to figure out what pipes to test them in. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
