Floyd of Rosedale will remain in Iowa City for the eighth year in a row! Celebratory bowl of Wilke 71st Street in a Peterson Aran No. 68. View attachment 182327
Very nice! I tried to order some Wilke blends today and after going through it all, then they inform me will not ship to my state (WA). I don't blame them, i blame my ...legislators. 🤬

After dinner peretti 150th Anniversary Flake in a Butz-Choq Calabash and a side of well-watered Crown Royal. View attachment 182363
This was... entirely satisfying! just over an hour smoke with the 22mm wide (at top) and 48mm deep Calabash bowl. The LJP 150th Flake was really tasty and i will absolutely order a healthy portion with my next order! Dang we are blessed with great tobaccos (despite the recent ignoble departures of some beloved brands).

Yesterday's Saturday ZOOM meeting featured an amazing “show and tell” by our friend Neal, of his recent trip to the Castello factory in Cantù. His many excellent photos and retelling of his conversations and time spent with Kino, were wonderful, entertaining, and informative.
I smoked a bowl of c.1941 Three Nuns (Scottie Piersel opened the cutter-top tin in the 2022 Chicago Show smoking tent and shared some pipefuls with a group of us. It was a little dry, so I rehydrated it with Boveda packets). I smoked it in my 1980s Hayim Pinhas bent billiard meerschaum. The tobacco was very mellow, yet still sweet and a bit spicy. A wee dram of The Macallan 12 was my tipple.

Mixing Time! 😜

75% C&D Anthology with 25% Solani Aged Burley Flake in a Dr. Grabow: Commodore 65 Zulu, dated from 1967-1969, vulcanite stem, metal screw-in tenon, no stinger.

I get no Burley flavor, Anthology at 75% is still overpowering, but the Solani does seem to make it cooler, less rough.

Next, going to do 50/50, I think it will be a nice combo. :)

@AppalachianPiper92 Happy Birthday! 🎂 🎁 🎈 🎉 Enjoy that pipe! ❤️

Be well everyone! ❤️

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and then I smoked a bowl of D&R Windsail in a smooth straight dark brown family era “Canadian” by Sasieni with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Finished work for the day, and going to get another pipe, and check on the ferals.

Mixing it up again!

This time trying out 50/50 Solani Aged Burley Flake and C&D Warped Scarecrow in a Dr. Grabow: Commodore 65 Zulu, dated from 1967-1969, vulcanite stem, metal screw-in tenon, no stinger.

This is turning out quite interesting, Solani with a slight Scarecrow sweetness. 😋

Solani on the left, Scarecrow on the right.

Be well everyone! ❤️
