After discussing this blend with a friend, I decided to take one for the team and give it a try. So, this evening, I have Middleton’s Cherry Blend in an English clay.
This is not, necessarily, the devil weed that some would have you believe. It’s not a goopy, over-the-top aromatic. The added flavoring is very mild. In fact, if it didn’t have “cherry” printed on the package, I doubt that I’d correctly guess what it’s supposed to be. Mostly what I’m getting out of it is a mildly sweet nuttiness, maybe a hint of maple and some vague fruitiness that I suppose is the cherry. It smokes easily enough, but it will bite like a pitbull having a bad day at even the slightest provocation.
Aside from the fact that it’s one of the most bite-prone blends I’ve ever encountered, the worst thing that I can say about this blend is that it’s decidedly uninteresting. The best thing that I can say about it is that it’s so uninteresting that it can hardly be considered offensive. I’ll smoke up the pouch, because I smoke what I’ve got, but it won’t be visiting again after that.
