I just had to satisfy my curiosity about Luxury Twist Flake. Got it in the other day.
Just opened the 1.5 lb box and have a folded flake burning in my Ropp Cherrywood Poker.
I had expectations about this blend that weren't met with reality.
I expected more obvious topping and it doesn't seem to be there.
I've smoked Newminster's Superior Navy Flake and thought by other's descriptions that the tin note on LTF was as forward, but I don't find that to be true.
The taste right outta the bag w/o any drying is mellow st. VA, but this is my first bowl and it's a cherry wood, so, who knows how subsequent bowls in other materials and shapes will taste?
No VA bite so far! Some do, some don't. Those that do, either get 'learned' or perique added.
