I got in a couple of bags of Rimboche by D&R. The A.P. is just a tad spicier than the S.J. and both taste wonderful.

I've got some A.P. going now in a MM Danish Spool using a Morgan stem.

A mix I made yesterday, VA,CubeCutBurley,Lat,Perique in my '54 Dunny Shellbriar 656 (prefix 6 designates saddle stem, I was told, by the man who provided my replacement, Howard Shulte, of Vero Beach, FL.) Howard just turned 76 last week and I happened to stop by his shop and catch him that day to leave a couple of my stummels for stems.

He showed me some work he had in front of him from a shop in CA. Nice to see him get that sort of nationwide attention.

Moments away from lighting my first ever bowl of McClelland Mature No.24, in my Il Duca billiard.

The tin not about took my nostrils off WOWZA

Now on to another new blend for me, Solani 660 (Silver Flake), in my big Tinsky lovat.
When I moved the contents of the 100g tin to a Mason jar yesterday I was immediately wowed by the size of these flakes..humongous. The texture reminded me of some of my favorite Pease flakes, and the smell too was very nice..like a more mellow Sixpence.

The tin note was not a liar..it does indeed remind me of Sixpence in the flavor department. Not as topping-forward as sixpence, but the subdued sweetness is more obvious. I realize subdued and obvious is a bit oxymoronic, but that's how I taste it lol.
I like this a lot..glad I got 100g..just wish the tins were actually sealed. I'd love to cellar some of this stuff.

Just finished smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 1982 black sandblasted paneled slight bend Savinelli flat bottom sitter with a black vulcanite stem.

Now smoking Rattray’s Exotic Orange in a 2002 IMP smooth full bend egg shaped meer with a black acrylic stem. A cup of Maxwell House, neat, is my drink on this chilly, rainy day.

Now smoking D&R Rimboche A.P. in my trusty 1970s smooth three quarter bend Peterson System Standard 305 with a black vulcanite p-lip stem. A bottle of Sprite is my drink.
