Here's a quick and likely well known cob hack...I use my cobbit stem in some of my other filter cob stummels.
I have another cobbit stem that got broken off at the tenon that I've sanded down and I use that on the non filter stummels. The ebonite stems seem to help me to sip my bowls very effectively and clench with more resistance to distortion.
