After a dinner of chicken breast with stuffing and cranberry sauce (prelude to next week), a bowl of Sutliff 507-C in my cleaned Savinelli 614ks with 6mm filter. If I had learned to smoke this pipe properly 40 years ago I probably wouldn't have bought all the pipes I have and would probably just have a few of these 614ks'. Sublime ! Still a favorite after 40 yrs.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, cod and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2012 Stonehaven in a straight black sandblasted 1957 Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver banded military mount and a black ebonite tapered stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink for now. My good friend who adopted Sam the Scamp's two orange scampers sent me this photo of him with Archie.

I've had this Nording for a while now. More than a little beat up, but a great smoker

Loaded up some well-dried Mac Baren Vanilla Flake in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian this morning. Only needed half of it while finishing off my tasks, so I had the other half this evening with the ranch chores, which helped take my mind off the fact that it was already 29 degrees (and dropping fast) plus windy. 9/10

Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, Dark-eyed junco, Band-tailed pigeon, California scrub-jay, American crow, Steller's jay, Red-tailed hawk, Northern flicker, Hairy woodpecker, Mountain chickadee, and California quail.

Eggplant parmesan on tap for dinner, with homemade minestrone soup and an organic Cab from Trader Joe's. Exceedingly busy this week, but no complaints, especially since I got my Mac Baren poundage in the mail today. 🥳
