Merde de Cheval in a Jima, so far I’m very happy with my choices from SP, still got a few to go. Citizen Kane is on the box tonight, not seen in over 20 years so I’m looking forward to it.
Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking Wilke No. 222 in a 1978 smooth dark brown Danish Special medium bend tapered egg with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Bought this pipe for $9.95 at The Tinderbox, and have gotten a ton of smokes out of it before it went into semi-retirement. A cup of hot tea is my drink.
Smoked some Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut in a Boswell billiard. I think this is classified as an aromatic, and it does smell like it in the bag. But it doesn't smoke any more aromatic than a typical codger burley like Granger or SWR.
Post-squall bowl of Wilke Lizzie Blood Red Virginia in an Upshall sandblast Canadian size 4. Hail south of here...and this is Florida. With June now a few weeks away - official start of hurricane season - today's nasty weather made me think about putting together a "hurricane smoking kit" for the inevitable evacuation, and for making sure the pipes and tobacco left behind are as "storm proof" as possible.
Paronelli with Artisan’s Blend. Such wonderful flavors . This pipe caught my eye nearly 25 years ago. Ran into problems with the tenon, but is was able to fix it myself. I am shocked that the finish has held up.
