That's one Virginia I haven't smoked yet, but I'll get around to. Do you get any of the bready notes from Opening night ? I love Virginia's !
More bread on the nose than the bowl imho, @jiminks review on TR is spot on and far more eloquent than any description I could muster. I’m just venturing into straight Va territory to be honest, I’m loving Germain’s Gold Leaf and Medium but the Savinelli Juno is the breadiest I've tried so far. Again imho.

Let's see what do we have in this Thursday's evening:

for smoking: W.Ø. Larsen Craftsman's Edition 152 Years, in a Greek made, "olive cob" pipe
for drinking: iced coffee
for listening to: free improvisation jazz
and for reading: a book with selected poems of Raymond Carver (1938-1958), translated in Greek, together with the original verses. And what a great, Great, GREAT author and poet he is!...

First off it’s all about what you like, don’t feel pressured into liking something that doesn’t appeal to you. The guys on this site will always steer you right. I’d start off by looking up different types of tobacco and how they’re produced. Tobacco Reviews is a goldmine of information too. You have a long and interesting journey ahead, enjoy the ride.

Thank you yea i started off with a simple tobacco product which says super value whiskey blend which i know is not the best out their i been researching today to see what tobacco shops are around me to see what they offer i like a sweet and a mild bourbon flavor i will not fold under pressure lol but thank you i just like information to go off of i see there is alot of experienced pipe smokers on this site so any suggestions i will take unless its a sales tactic then i will shut things down

Cracked open a tin of 2017 Escudo (the first few tins I ever bought). Seems to be aging nicely, no dramatic changes to my palate, but the flavor is a little richer or “thicker” and slightly less grassy, though not by much, which is quiet nice. The coins have darkened quiet a bit in color as well. Very enjoyable in my Savinelli 313 prince. Still think I prefer DNR but after a few more years I’m sure I won’t complain about either aged blend showing up in my rotation.
