Learning through experimenting, I've got some C&D burleys and a pinch of McClelland's blending perique in a no name straight apple meer, and the perique seems to make the burleys less acrid from the char light and all through, so far. The flavor of the burley seems to 'even out' and the overall taste is richer, smooth and cool, not to say tasty. Full disclosure, I started by smoking OHM Bold from a cob as if I were smoking cigarettes.
Now, I are a pipe smoker! :
