Half way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the cats except for the absent Abner the Eager. Haven't seen him in three days so I hope I will today. I'm sure he's enjoying the good weather, and looking for love since he's not been neutered. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Thank you! Sorry to hear about the one that got away. Hopefully another you like turns up soon.

Although anecdotal, I really like my Peterson 303 System pipe. Granted I'm still new to the hobby but it's been my favorite pipe so far. I exclusively use it when commuting so my "trusty Pete" is on duty during my work week and he is off duty when I'm off work. I get a dry and cool smoke plus I'm able to break it down and clean it all out while it's still warm.

In fairness, I've yet to try out a p-lip stem, but I'm hoping to remedy that in the future. Nevertheless, the system pipes are definitely worth looking into in my opinion 🙂
I have a big P-Lip, a system standard and I wouldn't be without it. In times undiscipline and the inevitable tongue bite, it becomes a weapon of choice with a mild, monochromatic tobacco. I fill it with a mild English, like Presbyterian Mixture, or Smoker's Pride Vanilla Cavendish, but you'll have your own fodder. Useful tool. As is a cigar.

I'm convinced you have four or five specimens of this magnificent pipe. It just looks too good for the amount of times you smoke it! Wish I could keep a plain pipe in that condition. That's why I do the rusticated thing! :ROFLMAO:

SOTE in my upside-down GBD.
This is one of the pipes I got in a box of NOS from a small cigar shop. The pipes came from an old news shop that closed in the late 1980s. So all the pipes are at least that old.
On this rusticated, low end GBD, the stem logo is upside-down. If I turn the stem so the logo is the right way, the stem/shank don't line up.
Although the quality control is not great, it's a great Latakia pipe and one of my favorites. I've never seen another GBD with this rustication.
It is just stamped GBD and Made In France on the bottom, and has a stamped GBD in the stem, no color.
Ha, I just noticed the stem is in wrong now. Notice the stem and shank not lining up in the top photo. I'll add a photo of it corrected. :)

Actually I had Tiramisu!
Don't get me started on the color orange..

Pope MIGHT just have Barnes number, like Barnes had Cal's number.
Should be a damn good game.

Do you think Barnes is retiring?
Hoping Barnes doesn't retire for at least one more year. The boys in blue didn't show up last night. I'm still stunned. I was expecting a much closer game. I love Tiramisu!

Notable Recent Smoke during sporadic attendence due to life madness stuff:

IMGP5619optMinamphorarich.JPG

This McQueen Miniature Fable is dedicated to tobaccos with an Oriental component, of which Amphora Absolute (Rich in the US) qualifies, is pictured with my 3D printed tip gizmo (fit with a colt "stem", and wooden matches. No, it's not the Return of the Luddite, but rather a neat hack I discovered. Woodies are not only useful for lighting pipes, but are a lot better for cleaning out central draft holes in pipes that have them, as do most of the McQueen Miniatures. Takes out slag and burnt dottle MUCH better than a pipe cleaner with its ragged hexagonal form, and doesn't leave cotton residue as do the pipe cleaners.

Got an about perfect 20+ minute, flavourful smoke from this neat little pipe, and the wonderful tobacco, one of Amphora's best.
