Curiosity got the best of me. I’ve never had Captain Black and I for some reason was craving cherry tobacco. Picked up a cheap cob to dedicate to cherry blends and left the filter in to combat tongue bite. The tobacco isn’t horrible but it definitely tastes exactly like cherry chapstick. ?
@GabrielSTB I've smoked a few packets of Captain Black Cherry ? in my clay pipes; @condorlover1 calls it Captain Crap:)
A re-enactor I met gave me some to smoke in my clay pipe.
Most fellow pipe smokers are happy to let me have a pipeful of baccy but one or two I've met think I'm a beggar...

Smoked 4 out of my 11 packets of Clan now; I like to smoke a clay pipe when I go out for a pint. As another forum member says I can still have a clay pipe of baccy with my pint but I have to take my own!
Been to a live gig at a pub in Chesterfield tonight, had a few pints of real ale and smoked some more Clan in my clay pipes.
I know what Sharpe would call me:)
I went to a pub in Sheffield with the Don Catchment Rivers Trust at Christmas and the bartender had a T-shirt with "pissheads" on the front; I imagine Sheffielders talking like Sean Bean even though the ones I know in the Don Catchment Rivers Trust don't:)
Sheffield is only a few miles away but they talk completely different from here in Derbyshire!
A big shame that Wilson of Sharrow just down the road from me in Sheffield no longer make clay pipes or I'd be their biggest customer:)
I would have liked to have visited the factory if they still made them...
Pipeweed stokes the fire; the beer puts it out:)
Going to smoke a bit more Clan in my clay pipe before going to bed; I need a good warming blast of pipe smoke:)
Got some Virginia Cake to smoke at the Jamestown re-enactment next month; ordered some slow match for lighting my clay pipes at re-enactment events!

Captain Crap :ROFLMAO: It’s an odd one. The cherry topping tastes cheap and “chemically” but it burns to nothing but ash and it smells nice. I’m sure there are better cherry aro’s but it’s tolerable

@GabrielSTB My favourite pipe baccy is the Gawith Hoggarth Cherry ? Vanilla; I had a memorable smoke of it in a clay pipe when I went to see Lace Wars at Cromford Mill in those long forgotten pre COVID days of 2019.
Saving my empty Clan packets for a recycling project and for clay pipe storage.
Lace Wars say "No smoke signals before the battle"; the Sealed Knot rule is no smoking on the battlefield!

Not far from finishing this bowl of C&D Yorktown in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Terracotta 4AB No.108/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem.

@JimInks I've got some Yorktown to smoke in my clay pipes but I'm saving it for the Redcoats and Revolutionaries event at Cromford Mill in May. Need to make sure I don't smoke it all:)
