Watch City Flake #558 in the first pipe Trever Talbot made when he went to France many years ago. It's a smooth straight Algerian briar Billiard bowl with a long Canadian stem, unbranded.
Been up in the mancave this evening refurbin a couple of old briars. Just finished up what was a pretty grungy rusticated bent bulldog with a mis-aligned stem. Got er all cleaned up, reamed and lookin new and gave er to my son Nick, he's my pipe pal.
Started out the evening with a really nice bowl of Margate in a recently restored Yacht.
Then moved on to a guilty pleasure... SP Black Cavendish in another recently restored beauty, a Dunhill Rootbrir Pot.
Am now enjoying a bowl of Frog Morton's Across the Pond in an old Bent Dublin.
This is only my 2nd time smoking this blend. The first time I was initially underwhelmed but about midway through the bowl it came alive.
This time around it's starting out better than the first. Truly a pleasant smoke.
Sippin a little Blanton's and listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan.
I mixed what I'll call a BurVa since it's burley forward, all C&D stuff, dark burley, cube cut burley, Va flake, and just s smidge each of lat and perique..in a Grabow Westbrook straight brush finished apple
Starting off my smoking day with 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. A bottle of Sprite is my drink.
Holy cow. I don't think anyone's smoking as much as Jim. I wish I could smoke at work.
I wonder what percentage of those 20k posts are about what tobacco your smoking now.
Either way in a couple hours form now I'll be smoking some Fragrant Matured cake in a Chacom dublin. ::
A couple minutes or so away from smoking MacBaren Virginia Flake in a late '90s half smooth/half etched freehand sitter, medium bend Nielsen Viggo with a pearl brown acrylic stem. A bottle of Cheerwine is my drink.
Fitzy: I've never had a job where I couldn't smoke. I've been lucky.
