Not a good day…
I called in today, unfortunately it wasn’t just my occasional eye problem (“I” can’t see myself working today)…
We’ve decided after a bad evening that it’s time to let our eldest dog move on her journey.
Finishing up a smoke of Dark Sails in a Ropp J11 before taking her on her last ride.

LiuLiu is a tough old bird, but too heartbreaking to watch her struggle through more bad days than good.
She’ll be missed…

It's always hard, very sorry to hear.

Now smoking Peretti Royal in a black sandblasted medium bend 2013 Mark Tinsky Coral 5 cherrywood with a smooth dark brown shank and bottom with a tapered black briar accented acrylic stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Cleaned a few pipes and fed Sleepy Suzy twice. The storm has come back, and I hustled Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave in. Harry the Hairy was already inside. Dunno where Abner the Eager is.

Perfection Plug Burley in this shadowy looking cob. Black coffee. Bike loaded. Going to be another hot ride today! Frame bag carries my rain jacket, keys, id and sometimes food if I’m riding all day. Top tube bag carries sunscreen and bandanas. Seat bag carries spare tube, multi-tool, tire levers and tubeless tire plugs. Running tubeless, I haven’t had to use the spare tube in years. Sealant does a great job! A glimpse into my life.

So sorry to hear; it's really hard to lose a good friend.

Chomping on a Kwiki Grape, (the one shown in the snap), as I type. Lots of visitors. Very gratifying but somewhat draining. Trying to get back to a normal routine, and slowly it seems to be happening. Still waiting on the probably now non-existent medical reports, so I'll be calling in a few chits on some retired doctor and nurse friends to help in the process. They still have pull. So do I - taught a lot of their kids and write a lot of recommendation letters, lol.

Morning pipe, a nice return to the MM Minicob STC with Smokers' Pride Cherry Cavendish. This is, imho, one of the very best cherry tobaccos available. The fact that we can get it up here for a relatively reasonable price is the clincher.

Probable evening smoke, a return to the break-in process with the Mr. Brog No. 52 Scoot. A question for the experts in a short Skippable Drivel below picture of smoking items.

Skippable Drivel. I'm strongly considering pushing the button on another Brog Scoot, not because I want it or it's a great smoker, which are reason enough, but because I want to "experiment" on it with respect to sanding, refinishing, and other minor types of alterations I'll eventually have to do on other items in my collection cuz I can be clumsy and distracted at times. Want to end up with an entirely different looking "scoot".

I'm entirely clueless as to this type of thing, and want to learn.

It's the very cheapest great smoking pipe I've ever had, too, $20 bucks US plus modest shipping.

What thinkest thou?

Cheers and have a great day.

MB Cherry Ambrosia in a Falcon. I wasn't too sure what I thought about this one at first but I keep reaching for it so I suppose it is okay. Not usually into cherry tobacco.

I relate. I found cherry tobaccos kinda . . . uh . . . okay, but never was really enthused. Then you find a couple that you do like. For me, it's like playing a simple but beautiful piece of music on the violin, like Kreisler's "Liebeslied" or Massenet's "Meditation from Thais." Not taxing, relaxing, and you're glad you included it on the program. :)

Man, I am so sorry to hear of what you have to do. Folks that are not "animal lovers" don't always understand but those who are can feel your hurt. Have had to do the same thing.

I view it like this.... we are blessed to have these dogs, cats, horses, goats, etc. in our lives and they become our friends. They are there for us and we need to be there for them. They depend on us to make hard decisions that are in their best interest and you are a good steward to do the "hard" thing when it is in their best interest. Glad you were blessed with a good friend for so many years...... 🤠
