Smoker’s Pride Cherry in a K.F.S. Baron made of high grade Algerian briar.

From what little I can gather, this pipe was made in the twenties (Old French Briar stamp) in the USA, likely in or close to New York City. Eventually the K.F.S. Baron series became a popular pipe in Japan after WW2.

This pipe was made of the finest briar, it does not get hot (how did dey do dat) , and tastes like heaven, among the top one per cent of my huge stash of pipes in smoking quality.

There’s not a fill, a ripple or flaw anywhere.

Sitting here admiring my bauble, this was so well polished and made of such incredibly close grained Algerian briar, the finish looks a mile deep.

Great Gatsby grade stuff.:)

The first modern era country song was probably the The Prisoner’s Song in 1925 by Vernon Dalhart.

Or was it The Wreck of the Old 97?

Today marks my daughter’s 2nd birthday! Earlier this year, I picked up a Stanwell POTY 2023 to commemorate her birth year. For its inaugural smoke, I’m loading it up with one of my go-to blends: GH&Co Kendal Dark.

After that, it’s off to Goofy’s Kitchen in Downtown Disney for some fun, followed by family, cake, ice cream, and probably a sugar-fueled toddler tornado.

Hope you all have a fantastic Saturday!

Getting ready to watch the broadcast of UFC on ABC 8: Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree, Jr., taking place at the Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan (hence the earlier than usual start time—I wonder if @jvnshr will be watching!) Going to have Cornell & Diehl Palmetto Balkan Small Batch (1879/3000) in a French Delacour Magnum Billiard with a dark, natural, horn stem.

The Delacour factory was built in 1893 in Saint Claude, France, and closed around 1960–1962; they also had a London, England factory that was destroyed by fire in 1935. This pipe, being pretty big (at about 10.375" in length, with its generous chamber approximately 1.0" wide x 2.25" deep) provides a relatively lengthy smoke time—however, with Palmetto Balkan not being very dense like Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding, and being more ribbon-like, I’ll need to reload the chamber more than once during the six-plus-hour broadcast, which is unfortunate and not preferable, since I don’t like reloading pipes during the fights for fear of missing a split second KO. There’s usually enough downtime between fights that I won’t miss anything significant, but I’d rather have my eyes on the screen.

Thanks,
Absolutely you should. They smoke well and are well built for the price. He has some available on his site. After this weekends show they should be back up for purchase. I need to ask for a commission next time and I don’t mean pipe making but sales😂
I must have one of these MS stack dark blast pipes for my birthday this fall, right? Beautiful pipe 🥰
