A Quick Review of yesterday afternoon's smoke. Saying "Yayyyyy!" to the effect of antibiotics, I decided to try something a bit out of my current cherry-grape-berry-boring routine. I took out one of my favourite Englishes, also containing orientals, and virginias, and a Cyprian lat, Mr B's (Brigham) English Mix, stuffed my Miniature McQueen Acorn with it, and had a very good 12 minute smoke indeed. So good I quickly cleaned the pipe, refilled, and did a repeat. Don't do this often because I think a pipe should rest but then again, when the iron is hot . . . . .

Short smokes but good. It's been my experience with these pipsqueek bowls that they work best with crumble cake or flakes that can be dried out a bit, cut to size, and gravity fed loosely into the bowl in 2 stages. Can drag 25 minutes or so if done in this manner. Mr B's is a ribbon cut; doesn't work so well, maybe half that length, thus 2 bowls. And thorougly enjoyed both of 'em.

Yeah, t'was raining, hailing, thundering and lightening all yesterday up here in the frozen north. My sympathies. However, on the bright side I traded an nice old 8'6" #3 Sage LL flyrod to a buddy who'd lusted after it for a bit, in return for a really nice picnic table for my back yard. So t'was a good day.

I notice that tin of Copenhagen in your montage, too. Excellent indeed! :ROFLMAO:👍👍

Great series of fly rods! Your buddy got a great deal. But maybe the picnic table comes with a personal cocktail waitress? 🤣🤣 Enjoy in good health!

Thanks! I got a great deal on that table, considering I actually needed it, a new one was $700, and at one point I had over 70 flyrods. I now have only about 15. Uhhhh . . . . think pipes! How many of them can we really smoke lol? I've had a collecting disease since a boy, and it's time to rationalize! Long ago! :ROFLMAO: And you wouldn't believe my situation with my other mamman monsters - cameras and guns. Let silence prevail.

You seem to know and love flyrods, as do a couple of other guys here. I have 4 I use - a #2 RPL, #3 LL, #5 St Croix, and a #8 9'6 RPL, all Sages except for the #5 St Croix. Backup for each one. Have only used these four for the past 5 years or so. Never touched a backup. And never missed any I gave or traded away. Just like giving up the beer and bourbon quest about 20 years ago. Don't even think about it any more.

Had I been thinking clearly years ago (ie when I retired), I coulda bought a retirement slum ranch either around Casper, Wyoming, or on that track from Las Vegas NM down to Tucson or OK Coral in Arizona, two of my favourite places in the world, outside of where I live now. Cocktail Waitresses never interested me - blew all my chances by doing what I wanted, how I wanted, and when I wanted. As I said before, had a grand life! No regrets.
