Was watching this video on the Perique process, and I didn't know this but American Spirit blacks have Perique in them, so I bought me a pack to take to work but thought I'd go ahead and try one. I also had a glorious bowl of Bayou Morning that had been aged like 5 years, it was excellent. Drinking sweet tea, bout to go watch a movie and call it a day.

Afternoon smoke: Smokers' Pride Vanilla Cavendish in my blond Mr Brog Nosewarmer. Pretty good smoke actually, but the Brog seems to prefer an aro-codger or aromatic of a bit heavier a nature. Could be me - tastebuds functioning now, but not at full speed. Smoked this blend in this pipe cuz Mike dropped over and sucks this blend up like it was going out of style, so decided to see what the fuss was all about. And yah, i do like a heavier blend for the most part. But the puff was more than OK. Skippable Drivel below pic.

Skippable Drivel: Snapshot of My Retro World. The backdrop for this snapshot is my living room's 2006 32-bit Asus laptop, Debian installed with Gnome Desktop. It sits on top of an old, vintage handmade oak coffee table, and the computer is connected to my stereo, with old Paradigm tower speakers behind the couch I'm sitting on. A CD player is used to make audio/video files which are installed to the computer, connected to the speakers via a headphone jack, and fed to the speakers from there. Videos are watched on an old wall mounted screen visible from all parts of the room. The walls are covered with paintings, photographs and stuffed heads of the few trophies I've shot.

Props for the photo besides the Brog, are an old vintage lighter (copy,) and my one and only working cell phone, a Blackberry Passport 3g, talk and text only. No apps cuz BB is long gone. Don't like these things at all. Hate them with a passion, and have one only for students, family and friends who text me. And, I still have them phone me on a landline if they expect to get answered. I'll answer a text if I have to. If the BB dies, it ain't gonna get replaced. And, what's more retro than a pipe?

I've posted a picture of this living room before, but before I do it again, I'll have the entire thing reorganized and looking less cluttered than it is now.

One more post to come tonight, then I'll be AWOL until I recuperate from the slice job tomorrow.
PS - Oh yeah . . . notice the bowl on the pipe is already starting to scorch?

Now smoking year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a post 2007 Castello straight brown Sea Rock KK US made in Cantu (Kimo) apple with a tapered black acrylic stem. Tomato the Brave certainly worked up an appetite by watching the tree clean up. He's a messy eater, but an avid one.

Frying up some yardbird, in the yard, with some 2023 Beast in a Briarworks Black Rusticated Stoker with Tortoise stem. This is the I got my hands full doing something pipe. I can clench it or just set it down and it holds enough leaf to burn for a long time. Plus the Rusticated lines run along the vertical axis of the bowl, only waving around the stem, kinda like wood grain. I love it.

Still working on figuring out the Beast.

"Bob loves to nap on the poop pile."
And who doesn't like to nap in poop???
Well, I’ve been clean and sober 29+ years so it’s been a while….
😆
What kind of temps are you having there???
102* right now (almost 4pm), but that’s 20ft off the ground in the shade at the nearest weather station.
