I had a work problem to ponder over so I grabbed my MM Mark Twain and absentmindedly loaded it with cherry cavendish/captain black original 50/50 mix. Smoked it quick and steadily. The parts I rememebr were tasty. Funny how it lit perfectly and burned consistently --- when lit without thinking about it !!! Just like in the movies !

Capstan Gold RR (sample) in the Stefano Bent Rhodesian, paired with Eel River Blonde Ale (organic!). Great way to end a busy day, albeit much more humid than I'm used to. Bird report: Common raven, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Oak titmouse, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, Western kingbird, Brewer's blackbird, House sparrow, House finch, Northern flicker, Red-tailed hawk, and California quail.

This was my view today:

Just passing the half way mark on this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue in a straight 1924 Dunhill’s “Shell Briar” patent pot 7 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. I have so many things to do this weekend that I decided to take an internet break for a couple of days. See you folks later.

We celebrated our grandson's 19th. birthday with an early evening dinner under the gazebo, in simply glorious weather.
After dinner and homemade birthday cake, I enjoyed a bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in my MM Ozark Mountain Hardwood cherry-stained pipe, and a dram of Gentleman Jack with bergs.
