Brighton (sample) drying on a paper towel, for the Foyard rhodesian. Bird report: Common raven, Red-tailed hawk, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Oak titmouse, House finch, Mountain chickadee, and Western kingbird, gorging themselves on the newly emerged cicadas that make my smoking area sound like I'm in the jungle.

I'm delighted to have just read that the flood of lawsuits against the US Forest Service has officially begun in retaliation for the destruction their "prescribed burns" (aka arson) caused in New Mexico. F**king inexcusable. I hope the people on both sides of this travesty will see some modicum of justice. ?

Yes, I hope something comes of the lawsuits too. The whole thing was unbelievable!

The rain prevented a second set of walking reps, so I took a much needed nap, and then smoked a bowl of first release Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Now smoking Wesley’s No.15 Three Quarter Flake in a medium bend smooth paneled 2017 Celebi Turkish Meerschaum with a tapered gold and black swirl acrylic stem. This will get me to dinner. Watching the Braves-A's game while working on a review of this blend.

After the sun went below the tree line and the back yard cooled down I had a pre-dinner 1/2 bowl of Country Squire Old Toby in a Barontini Gran Duc (20mmx55mm chamber) while watching the house wrens feed their young, a large Pileated Woodpecker testing various trees for bugs, and surprisingly, a Robin chasing squirrels away from the japanese ewe wherein she has a nest with young. Boy, was she vicious !
Dinner will be left over stuffed peppers which I made last night for the first time (9 large) successfully. (last night yellow, tonight red). Next time I will use smaller peppers as these are huge ! Who knew ??!! :)

Got the critters fed between rain showers and harvested some horseradish for our evening meal.
Since the baked potatoes take just over an hour, I’ve got time to enjoy another smoke. Grabbed Gandpa Mac’s KW Signet, Apple.
I’m not sure how much hand carving or detailing went into these pipes, but nonetheless, it’s a great looking little pipe. Packed with 2017 C&D Yorktown. Cup of sweetened ice tea mixed with Kombucha.
