A couple of minutes or so away from smoking Wilke Hearth of Galway in an undated smooth straight medium brown made in France Saillard Lord Clerit lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Working and listening to The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes on the XM.

I originally did a deep clean, cotton ball in the chamber soaked over night in everclear, and then later I smoked a few bowls in it.

But later I decided to sand the chamber out.

Now in the cleaned out chamber in a hallmark stamped 1919 Peterson for the Irish Free State Era 1922 - 1937, with a vulcanite stem, smoking my first bowl of 2104 Samuel Gawith St James Flake.

Be well everyone! ❤️

I finished work before it finished me, and my last smoke of the day is Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the blend Basil Rathbone smoked. Time to read baseball box scores.

Frog Morton On The Town in a new Ropp Lovat (freshly drilled button and shank, on this pipe the shank actually started at 3.5mm which is quite unusual, most pipes run the standard 4mm in the shank. Of course it's now a 4mm shank and the stem was just thick enough to handle 3.5mm).
Tastes decently sweet and smokey but for whatever reason this is one of those blends that will not burn no matter how dry it is.
Maybe I packed too light, but whatever the case I from now on this tobacco will only be lit with a butane torch.
