After a few days of Wilke aros, I'm have Elizabethan mixture in a MM free hand ... IPA for refreshment and some Bobby Hutchinson playing in the background. Short ribs slow cooking in the cast iron with carrots mini potatoes and red wine

Wilke Vermont Maple Cavendish in a MM Washington - this brand may have changed my mind about aromatic pipeweed! I've had this and 2 bowls of Wilke Gramercy, and enjoyed them both very much, along with their Cherry Cavendish (and have some Rumcake to try later). If I like Rumcake, that'll be 4 for 4, a mighty good run.

That's my next Wilks flavor as well

It's apparently flake day at my house. This morning, I had ODF in a Mauro Armellini bent billiard, and now I'm smoking MacBaren Navy Flake in a Peterson bent pot.

I got bored so I opened this tin of G&H Best Brown No:2 Flake that I received from my Secret Santa this Christmas just passed. I was very interesting to smoke and for a flake I was surprised that it burnt all the way to the bottom and left a very fine white ash. I am on my third bowl of this today and I am really enjoying something that does not require me to cut it up and prep it before smoking. I must just buy a dozen or so tins of this to have on hand for a change of pace. Before I forget my pipe is a 5 1/2' meerschaum 'cutty' with an amberine stem and silver band circa 1897.

I like it. The shag helps because it burns easy, so minimal relights. Even though it is a small-ish pipe I can't imagine keeping a flake lit in this thing.

I'm almost a quarter of the way through this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Byronic Slices in a black straight, grain etched family era (Post WW2) Four Dot Sasieni “Appleby” apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Watching Nature on PBS.
