How have you kept your first pipe in service? Just maintenance, or did you at some point or another have to have it cleaned up vis-a-vis an estate pipe? I have a Chacom Army from about 15 years ago, and I worry about keeping it in service (I've never been able to find a backup).

I'm about to clean up a new to me estate Castello and prepared a pipe of Wessex Campaign Dark in a 55 KK Sea Rock for this task.

Started the morning out early with some serial chain pipe smoking while washing down the outside of the house (damn FL algae). SWR, CH, SWRA, and Edward G. Robinson Blend in a MM Mark Twain, MM 5th Ave. Diplomat, 1984 Basket pipe bent brandy marked ”Made in London“ over ”England”, and the Mushin volcano, respectively.

Almost finished smoking the very dry year 2010 Villager Virginia No.444 in a smooth straight late 1970s Charatan Special 4148DC Reg. No. 203573 pot with a black double comfort vulcanite stem. A very late lunch is next. Ice water and floaty widdle icebergs is my drink.

Just regular maintenance. I clean my pipes every day.
