Just finished smoking Watch City Undead Scottsman in a smooth unfinished brown slight bend 2015 Savinelli 320KS author with a tapered black vulcanite stem.
Half way through my last smoke of the day, which is Wilke No. 13 in a 1980 black rusticated rough top Jobey E27 Stromboli extra ball-shaped poker with a pearl green acrylic stem. Got a few chores done, and am listening to Johnny Rivers.
Well I've made it 2/3 of the way through my No Smoking June!
Looking forward to a couple of pints of beer and a smoke of my birthday Captain Black next month - something to celebrate the end of lockdown with!
Cup o Joe's 2 - Maricoxi in a smokable second legend cob. Loving the baccy but it has altered the taste of the coffee I was drinking. I'm still deciding on whether I like the change.
The altered taste of my usual Aldi coffee with the Maricoxi, I decided, wasn't pleasant. But it was familiar. I was trying to think of what it reminded me about.
I remembered my fiancee brought back this coffee from Israel. It wasn't to our liking and has been in the cupboard since. We will probably use it in gardening.
For any fans of Maricoxi and coffee, I recommend this.
Vincent Manil Petite Robin in an old production Dr. Grabow Grand Duke. This pipe has a screw together tenon. The new one I own has a metal tenon with a split on either side that allows flexibility as the smoker pushes into the mortice.
Bowl of BB No:2 Flake and Black Twist in a medium sized meerschaum 'cutty' pipe with a genuine amber mouthpiece as I slice up some Velvan Plug for the day and pay a few bills by writing out a couple of checks!
I cracked open a tin of Solani Burley Flake (the older square tins). The flakes were gorgeous and the cocoa aroma was quite strong. It was pretty good, but I think it needs time to breathe. I am going to leave it in the tin for a few days and then transfer to a mason jar. I primarily smoke Virginia’s and Va/Per blends and I think I puffed too hard to get more sweetness. Will revisit in a few weeks.
My next smoke of the day is all set, Rattray’s Hal O’ The Wynd in a 67’ Dunhill 483 “Don” Tankard with a fishtail stem. My son-in-law is getting breakfast ready, and my grandson is finishing his morning whittling lesson. Life is good.
