I had no idea a pipe like this ever even existed. Unsmoked, from the 70s, a Mauro Armellini figural meer!
I had not even a suspicion that he ever worked in meerschaum, never mind that a specimen like this would make it unsmoked for over four decades. It deserved a solid blend, I thought, so I cracked a tin of Belmont Station. Some might call that too pedestrian for a pipe like this, but I wanted to see how a good aro would smoke in it. Very pleased. Sometimes they just fall in your lap. Amazing!
