Just smoked a bowl of Rimboche S.J. in my smooth yello=bole lovat with a briar stummel. I sanded this baby down to it's fairly natural finish and ran through the micro pads to get a really good view of all the dark putty fills. I like it better this way.

However, I discovered recently, that a hot water wash will also wash out putty fills. That happend on a MasterCraft DeLuxe 1/2 bent, and I've begun to experiment with rustication. Baby steps so far, with a dremel. It's not really fun so far.

Saturday was Vincent Manil Reserve du Patron in a St. Claude. Wow, I love semois--so rich and earthy, but at the same time very mild and smooth, to my taste.
Sunday was Country Squire Maple Twist in a MM cob. I enjoy preparing the rope twists, but the two I've had (this and G & H Sweet Whiskey Rope) seem a tad on the harsh side, although I may have been smoking them a bit too fast.

Starting my smoking day with a bowl of early 70s Douwe Egberts Nord-Sund in a 1975 medium bend sandblasted looking, smooth on the sides yellow Pioneer meer with a black ferrule and vulcanite stem in the military mount style. Suzy and Molly were rasslin', and woke me up. Once I was awake, they went to sleep. Imagine that!

Relaxing after a tasty lasagna lunch with a bowl of year 2015 Peter Heinrichs Curly Block in a straight black sandblasted 1968 Dunhill Shell bulldog with a black vulcanite stem. A bottle of Boylan's Birch Beer made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Watching Mad Dog Russo's show even though he has guest hosts all week.
